May 8-12th, we celebrated National Goodwill Week. And, boy, did we celebrate!

Goodwill Industries-Knoxville provides job training and employment services to individuals with barriers to employment in our 15-county service area in East Tennessee. In 2016, we served over 3,750 individuals, changing lives through the power of work.

We kicked off the week with the #GoodwillWeekChallenge. We asked our social media followers to wear and share their favorite Goodwill pieces and they delivered!

We also hosted a couple special events to help share Goodwill's mission and connect even more people with jobs and resources.

Hiring businesses and job seekers filled the Bearden Goodwill Employment and Training facility for the Knoxville Job Fair. We opened our computer lab to the public so job fair attendees could fill out online applications and work on their resumes.

We held a Donor Appreciation Day at the Bearden Goodwill to thank our donors for their support of Goodwill. We treated visitors to donuts and coffee, inviting them to share a few words about why they choose to give to Goodwill by writing on our paper link. We saw words like "community," "giving back," and "helping others."

Of course, we wanted to share the reason for the celebration: our amazing clients who benefit from Goodwill's vocational training programs.

Thanks to everyone who participated in National Goodwill Week. Our work is possible thanks to our donors, shoppers and community supporters.
