Hamblen County elementary and middle school students are invited to participate in the Goodwill Sack Pack Donation Drive, taking place February 12-16th.

Students at participating schools will show their love for Goodwill during Valentine’s week by bringing a bag full of gently used clothes, toys or household items that they no longer need to school. These donations will be sold in a regional Goodwill store to fund job training and employment services for individuals with barriers to employment in East Tennessee.

In exchange for their bag of donations, participating students will receive a free meal from McDonald’s and the opportunity to win two tickets to Dollywood. The classroom that brings the most donations county-wide will receive an ice cream party celebration!

Last year, Hamblen County students contributed over 20,000 pounds of donations for Goodwill Industries-Knoxville, Inc. during the Sack Pack donation drives. Donations made to Goodwill are sold in Goodwill’s 28 regional retail stores; proceeds allow Goodwill Industries-Knoxville to provide vocational services and employment opportunities to thousands of individuals with barriers to employment across their 15-county service area across East Tennessee each year.

Sack Pack sponsors include McDonald’s, Keep Hamblen-Morristown Beautiful, and Dollywood.
